New PowerTap Wheelset Options....

We’ve put together a number of new wheel options built around the Powertap SL 2.4 and Powertap Pro power meters. You now have 4 rim choices, from light to aero, and 2 hub choices.

Even better, you can select just what you need. Need a power enabled training rear wheel only? Then just order that.

But with our new pull down menu system, you can add things like front wheels, QR’s, and cassettes to your package, to the point where you can simply unbox your wheels when they come and slide them into your frame, and away you go. We will mount the tires & tubes, and install the cassette for you.

And for a limited time only, receive a FREE Continental GP 4000 tire, plus rim strip and tube, on each wheel purchased. If you get just a rear wheel, then you get a tire package for that. Add a front wheel, and we give you a second tire set for that wheel as well.

What better way to get training with power this spring?

...a few of the new trainers...

We’ve gotten a number of new and exciting trainer packages going this week. Here’s a few highlights:

  1. Kinetic Rock n’ Road Trainer with Power Computer allows you to get feedback on the smoothness of your pedal stroke and control of the bike. You are supported by a heavy steel frame and an adjustable elastomer, so that the bike rocks side to side depending on your effort and control of the bike. A great blend of a solid fluid trainer and old school rollers. As always, WiredBike.com throws in a free Power Computer so you get wattage data, and free shipping.

  2. Cycleops Fluid 2 with Power Computer The quality and durability of Cycleops trainers is legendary. But where’s the power? Yes you can use your Powertap or SRM, but what about the rest of us, who need the wattage data on trainer, but have a pretty good idea when they are hurting out on the road? Well, WiredBike.com has taken the excellent Fluid 2 trainer, recalibrated the Kinetic Power Computer, and viola! a Cycleops, power enabled trainer!

  1. iBike Pro Powermeter with Wireless Heart Rate OK well this isn’t a trainer, but you know what? Now you can use the iBike on a trainer! How the heck do they do that?? I don’t know, but they also include wireless heart rate, so with this device added to your bike, you can train inside and out with power, heart rate, and cadence and then download all of it to your computer for analysis.

So just a few things to make your winter fitness better than ever!

Time to start thinking about your winter plan..

Tacx Cosmos Trainer

With the summer riding season winding down, it’s time to do a little planning about what to do when the weather turns bad. Depending on where you live, that could be very soon or still a few months off. At any rate, you need to have your equipment ready to go ahead of time, so that on that sooner-than-you-think dark & cold day, you can still get some quality chamois time in.

There are 2 types of goals for inside riding. The first are the Maintainers. They have worked hard to gain fitness throughout the summer season, and are looking to keep to control the amount of loss in the off season. Specific workouts in a logical schedule, combined with on the road riding if possible, allow you to be ready to have your best year in 2008. A great new trainer for this type of serious athlete is the Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll Road Machine which utilizes a stable but flexible base that allows a natural side to side motion, while training the rider to pedal more smoothly to improve efficiency. Efficient pedaling is like getting better gas mileage in your car: go farther with the same energy.

The second type are the Improvers. These are people who view riding a trainer as one component of an overall fitness regime that may include many other sports, in an attempt to gain a higher overall health. The trainer for them is a home based gym that includes cycling. The Tacx Flow trainer is an excellent choice for this rider, as it has a simple to use stand alone computer that tracks calorie expenditure along with power, speed, distance and time.

Regardless of what you category you fit in, you need good quality equipment. We are here to help, don’t hesitate to contact us if you need help selecting the right trainer for you.
